Our small studio is located in Dadar West on Sati Marg, specifically at Plot No 502. If you know this part of Mumbai, you know it is always crowded and full of energy. We have been in this spot for a long time and the building has that old Dadar charm to it. Inside, the space is usually filled with rolls of fabric, different patterns, and various bits of thread. It is not a polished showroom like the ones you see in the big malls. It is a real workshop where we spend our hours designing and putting things together. The sewing machines are often running in the background, making a steady humming sound that we have all grown fond of. Sometimes the workspace gets a bit cluttered when we are working on a new project, but we know where everything is. We do not have big windows with mannequins or bright neon signs. Most people find us because they have heard about our work from someone else in the neighborhood. The walk from the station is not too long, which is nice for when we have to go out and pick up supplies. We enjoy being in this part of the city because it feels like there is always something happening right outside the door. It is a simple, honest place where we just focus on the clothes and the designs we are making each day.
