M. N. Garments

M. N. Garments is located at Godown No. 7 inside the Ramlaxman Tanning Compound. We are at number 29 on Kattawadi Cross Road, which is right off Dharavi Road. If you know Dharavi at all, you know how busy and crowded it gets around here every single day. Our godown is usually packed from floor to ceiling with rolls of cloth and half-finished clothes waiting to be stitched. It is loud because of the sewing machines going all day long, but that is just the sound of work getting done for our customers. We have been in this spot for quite a few years now and have seen many people come and go. The air is thick sometimes, especially in the heat of the summer months, but we have a couple of old fans that keep the air moving a bit. We aren't doing anything fancy; we just make garments for the local market and whoever else needs them. It is a tight space with not much room to walk around once a new shipment of fabric arrives. Most of the people working here live nearby in the area, so it feels like a small community inside the compound. We do not have a receptionist or a big sign out front. You just walk in and see us working. We mostly focus on getting the stitching straight and making sure the sizes are right. It is a lot of repetitive work.
