Dev Apparels is located at No. 5 in the Swastik Industrial Estate. The actual address is No. 178 Vidyanagri Marg in Santacruz West. It is a very basic industrial unit but it works for what we do. Being on Vidyanagri Marg means there is always a lot of traffic and people passing by, especially with the university being in the general area. The Swastik Industrial Estate is one of those places that has a lot of history and you can see it in the walls of the building. Our spot at number 5 is where we handle all the cutting and stitching for our clothes. It’s not a large space, so we have to be very organized with how we store our materials. The sounds of the machines are pretty much constant throughout the day. We are used to the noise and the general fast pace of Santacruz. We don't have any fancy showroom or anything like that, just our workshop. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped when we have a big shipment of fabric arrive, but we manage to find space. Most of us have been working here for years and we know the street and the local tea stall like the back of our hand. It’s just a straightforward place where we make clothes and try to keep things moving. There is no corporate fluff, just the daily work of running a small apparel business.
