Deepak Provision General Stores

Deepak Provision General Stores is located at Malabar Hill 26. It’s a quiet spot compared to the rest of the city. I’ve been running this place for a long time, selling basic stuff like soap, biscuits, and milk. It’s a small shop, and I know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. I keep the shelves stocked as best as I can, though sometimes the delivery truck is late and we run out of things for a day. I don’t use a computer for the accounts; I just write everything down in a big ledger book. It’s slower that way, but I don’t make mistakes. The air in Malabar Hill is a bit fresher than downtown, which I appreciate. My morning starts early, around six, to get the bread in. I stay until late evening most days. There isn't much room to move around once a few customers are inside, but we make it work. I have an old stool behind the counter where I sit when my legs get tired. I’ve lived in this neighborhood almost my whole life, so the shop feels like an extension of my own house. It’s just a simple life selling simple things. Sometimes the kids come in for sweets after school and the bell on the door rings non-stop for an hour. I like that sound.
