Dashmesh Creation

We are down here in Dharavi, specifically at No. 271 on the ground floor of Shivshankar R. Sangh. If you know Sangam Galli in Kala Killa, you know it stays pretty busy all day long with people moving back and forth. Dashmesh Creation has been tucked away in this spot for a while now. Some days it is just us trying to keep up with the work piled on the tables. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we just keep the fans going and get on with things. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them where the shop was. We don't have a big sign or anything fancy, just the name on the door and a lot of stuff inside. Sometimes the rain makes the lane a bit messy, but that is just how it is around here in Mumbai. We try to keep the place organized, though it usually ends up looking like a work zone by lunchtime. Usually, someone is running out to grab chai for the rest of us around four o'clock. It is not a huge operation, just a few people making sure things get finished. We spend most of our time right here at the address listed, checking things over and making sure the counts are right before anything goes out. It's a living, and it keeps us occupied from morning until late evening most weeks. It isn't much to look at but we work hard enough here.
