Kartik Fabrics

You can find Kartik Fabrics over in Dahisar East, specifically at A-102 Aditya Park on C. S. Road. Being in Mumbai, space is always a bit tight, but we make it work in our unit. The building is a mix of different small businesses and some residential parts nearby, so it’s always a lively atmosphere. We deal with fabrics every day, so the whole place smells a bit like new cloth and sometimes the dust from the rolls. It’s a bit of a climb or a lift ride up, and then you’re in our world of textiles. We don't have a showroom with bright lights; it’s more of a functional space where we store our inventory and handle the billing. C. S. Road can get very noisy with the Mumbai traffic, but inside we just focus on the orders. We’ve been in Aditya Park for a while and the security guards know us well. It’s just a regular life of checking shipments, talking to transporters, and making sure the fabric is the right quality for the customers. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just want to get through the day’s work and make sure the bills are paid. Most of the time it’s just one or two of us here handling everything. It’s a practical, no-nonsense way to run a fabric business in the suburbs of Mumbai. That’s pretty much how we operate on a daily basis.
