Dadi Impex is based in Laxmi Plaza, room 614, which is just off the New Link Road in Andheri West. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy this area gets. The building is always full of people moving boxes and rushing to the elevators. Our office isn't very large, so we have to be careful about where we stack things. We do import and export work, which mostly involves a lot of back-and-forth emails and checking on cargo. It’s not the kind of thing you see in movies. Most of the day is just spent sitting at a desk and making sure the numbers match up. We have a few windows that look out over the city, but we usually keep the blinds down because of the sun. The tea stall downstairs is where we get our morning break. It’s a simple routine. We don't have any big marketing plans; we just work with the clients we have and try to keep things moving. Sometimes the internet goes down, and we have to wait around for the technician to show up, which is always a bit of a hassle. It’s a very grounded, everyday kind of place. We don't use fancy words or have big presentations. We just come in, do the work, and go home. Andheri is a tough place to work because of the noise, but we’re used to it by now.
