D. V. S. International

D. V. S. International operates out of rooms 204 and 205 in the Udyog Mandir building. We are located on Pitamber Lane in Mahim West. If you’ve ever been to this part of Mumbai, you know how narrow and busy the lanes can get. The building is an old industrial estate, and it has a lot of character, even if the stairs are a bit steep. We’ve been working from these two rooms for a long time. It’s mostly desks piled with documents and a few computers that have seen a lot of use. We deal with international trade, but our daily reality is much more local. We spend our time on the phone or sending out emails to people all over the place. The office gets a bit cramped when we have a lot of samples or boxes arriving. We don’t have a receptionist or a lobby. If the door is open, you just walk in and say hello. The sea is only a short walk away, but we usually only see it when we’re heading home. We get our snacks from the vendors downstairs, and everyone in the building knows each other. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don’t go in for big presentations or fancy talk. We just focus on the shipments and the paperwork that comes with them. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes, but it’s our space and we like it.
