Computer Factory

Working at Computer Factory means listening to the buses all day because we are right next to the Seven Bungalows Bus Depot. We are in Shop No. 4 on the ground floor of the Avinash Building along J. P. Road. Andheri West is always moving, and being right by the depot means there is never a quiet moment. You see the commuters running for their buses while we are inside checking on the machines. The ground floor is convenient because people don’t have to climb any stairs with heavy equipment. It’s a bit of an old building, but it stays cool enough. J. P. Road is a main artery here, so there is constant movement outside our door. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, and I have to wipe down the monitors every morning. We have a lot of parts and boxes stacked up because there is always something to do. It isn't the most polished office you’ll ever see, but it works for us. People from the nearby apartments stop in when they have a problem. We’ve been in this building for a while now, and we know most of the other shopkeepers on the ground floor. It’s a busy life in Andheri, and being near the bus stop makes us easy to find if you’re coming from a distance. I usually stay until the last few buses pull out of the depot in the evening.
