About Classic Embroideries – Fashion & Trends in Mumbai
Classic Embroideries is tucked away in Plot No. 7 along the Sakinaka Telephone Exchange Lane in Kurla. It’s a bit of a hidden spot if you don’t know where you’re going, right in the middle of all those narrow lanes. We spend our days surrounded by thread, needles, and the constant hum of the embroidery machines. It’s not a quiet place to work, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. The air is often filled with a bit of lint, and we are always sweeping up scraps of fabric from the floor. We aren't a big factory or anything like that, just a dedicated group of people doing the work as it comes in. Most of our day is spent hunched over the tables checking the details or fixing a machine that decided to act up. We don’t have a fancy front office for meetings. Usually, if someone wants to talk to us, they just come into the work area and we chat over the sound of the stitching. It gets pretty warm in here during the summer months, but we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes down the lane. We’ve been here in Kurla for a long time and the surrounding area has changed so much, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We just keep focusing on the patterns and getting the orders finished on time.
