Choudhry General Store

Choudhry General Store is located right on the Link Road in Goregaon West. If you know the Bhagat Singh No 2 area, you probably have passed by us at some point. We are tucked in near the Arkere Mico Gate, which is a busy spot for people coming and going from work. The store is filled from floor to ceiling with all sorts of things people need for their houses. We have bags of rice, soaps, different kinds of biscuits, and the usual cold drinks in the fridge at the back. It gets very crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home and remembers they forgot to buy milk or sugar. The aisles are a bit narrow because we try to fit in as much stock as possible. I usually stand behind the counter near the front so I can see who is coming in. The floor is made of old stone and it gets dusty quite fast with all the feet walking in from the street. We do not have any fancy lights or displays, just simple shelves and the items clearly visible. The neighborhood kids often stop by for some small snacks after school lets out. Dealing with the distributors is the hardest part of the day because the trucks have trouble parking on the busy Link Road. We just keep things moving one customer at a time and try to remember where everything is hidden.
