Our office is tucked away at 140-K, Cavel Cross Lane No. 7, Kalbadevi, and it’s where we spend our days. If you know Mumbai, you know how crowded these lanes get. Chirag Group Of Companies has been operating out of this spot for quite some time. It’s one of those old buildings where the stairs are narrow and you have to watch your step. Inside, there are stacks of files and phones ringing quite often. We don't have those glass walls or fancy carpets you see in movies. It’s just a practical space where we handle all our different business things. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, and we just sit and wait or talk about what happened over the weekend. The lane outside is always full of handcarts and people shouting, which makes it feel alive. We eat our lunch at our desks most days because there is always something to finish. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s what we do. Dealing with the group's various interests means things are never really quiet. We have people coming in and out all day long, asking for this or that. We just try to keep things organized as best as we can in the middle of all the chaos of Kalbadevi. It’s home for us now, even with all the noise and the dust that comes in from the street. We’ve grown used to the rhythm of the neighborhood and the people who walk by every day.
