Payal Creation

Our workshop is in a Laxmiwadi Shed, right besides the Maruti Suzuki showroom. We’re near the Falcon Pump in the Vavdi Gidc area. If you’ve ever been to a Gidc, you know exactly what it’s like. It’s all about industry here. There’s the sound of metal, the smell of grease, and a lot of dust from the unpaved parts of the road. We operate out of a basic shed. It’s got high ceilings and a concrete floor that’s stained from years of work. It’s not a place for a fancy meeting. We usually just stand around one of the big work tables if we need to talk about something. Being near the Maruti showroom makes it easy to give people directions, though not many people just stop by for no reason. It’s mostly just us and the guys from the nearby units. We work hard, usually starting before the sun gets too high and staying until the light starts to fade. The shed gets hot in the summer, but we’ve got some big fans that help a little. We don’t spend money on making the place look pretty because the work we do doesn’t require it. It’s a grit-and-grind kind of life in Vavdi. We like the honesty of it. You show up, you make things, and you go home. That’s what Payal Creation is all about, just regular people making things happen.
