Chheda Dry Fruits

If you walk down Station Road in Vile Parle East, you’ll find us at Agrawal Market. Chheda Dry Fruits is in Shop A/5. It’s a small shop, but we pack a lot into it. We’ve got bags of almonds, cashews, and raisins stacked high. The market is always busy, especially in the evenings when everyone is heading home from the station. It’s noisy and there’s always someone asking for prices. We don't have a big fancy display. It’s just glass jars and wooden bins. I’ve been behind this counter for years, and I know most of the regulars by face. We get our stock in early in the morning before the crowds start. The space is tight, so we have to be careful how we move around. It’s not a supermarket experience. It’s a local market shop. Sometimes the scales act up or we run out of change, but we manage. We don't do big advertisements or anything. People come to us because they know where we are. Dealing with dry fruits means you’re always checking for quality and making sure everything stays fresh. The monsoon season is the hardest because of the humidity. We spend a lot of time sealing things up tight to keep the crunch. It’s a simple life running a shop in Vile Parle. We open early, close late, and talk to people all day long. It’s just a normal neighborhood business that keeps us busy.
