Cali

Cali is a small shop, number 19 to be exact, in Building Number 09. We are located along the Chembur Aalandi Moshi Road, right near the Dudulgaon Phata in the Haveli area of Pune. It’s a bit of a drive from the main city center if you're coming from that way. The road out here is quite wide, but it gets very dusty when the wind picks up. We’ve been here since the building was relatively new and fresh. There are other shops in the line—mostly hardware stores or small groceries. We spend our days waiting on customers or organizing the stock on the shelves. It’s a simple life. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who have known each other for a long time. The Dudulgaon Phata area is developing fast, so there is a lot of construction work happening nearby every day. You can see the cranes and new apartments going up from our front door. Inside the shop, it’s mostly just metal shelves and a small wooden counter. We don’t use any high-tech systems for our inventory. Everything is done manually in a thick ledger book. We have a small radio that plays local music in the background to keep things lively. The evenings are usually the busiest when people are heading home from work. We close up around eight and head home ourselves. It’s a regular shop.
