C Arunkumar & Co Exports

Our office is at 27 Narshi Natha Street, inside the old Sagar Building. We are up on the second floor in unit 9. The name C Arunkumar & Co Exports is written on a small metal plate by the entrance. This part of town is always moving, with trucks and handcarts everywhere you look. We do export work, which means a lot of coordination with different people. The office is small and usually filled with the smell of old paper and maybe some of the spices from the shops downstairs. We don't really have many visitors coming in, mostly just couriers and our own staff. It’s a functional space for work. I have an old wooden desk that’s been here since the day I started. We try to stay on top of the shipping schedules, but things happen and delays are common. The ceiling fans hum all day long to keep the air moving in the heat. It’s not a glamorous job by any means. We deal with suppliers and buyers, trying to make sure the quality of the goods is what it should be before they leave. The building is a bit worn down and the walls are peeling, but it’s home for us during the working day. We’ve stayed here because it’s close to everything we need in the market. No big speeches or corporate talk here. We just process the orders and hope the transport arrives when they say it will.
