C Arunkumar & Co Exports

We are tucked away in the Sagar Building on Narshi Natha Street. It’s on the second floor, room number 9. If you know Masjid Bunder, you know how packed and chaotic the streets are most of the time. C Arunkumar & Co Exports is what we go by on our letterhead. We deal with a lot of paperwork and various shipments going overseas. The office is quite old, and the lift in the building doesn't always work, so we take the stairs a lot. It’s a lot of shouting and noise from the porters and loaders outside on the pavement. We handle various types of goods for export. It’s not an easy business with all the changing regulations and the frequent delays at the port. I spend most of my time sitting on the phone or writing out emails to agents. The desk is always covered in thick files and folders. We’ve been at this address, 327 Narshi Natha Street, for quite some time now. The tea guy comes by twice a day, which is the highlight of the afternoon for most of us. We don’t have a fancy website or even a big sign outside. Most people we work with have known us for years. It’s a bit dark in the office because the windows are small and dusty. We just focus on getting the crates out on time. Sometimes the monsoon rains make everything very difficult for transport.
