Bytespan Embroideries

This is our workshop at Jaideep Society in Meera Road, Sector 1. We are in room 101. It’s a busy street outside with shops and people, but inside it’s mostly just the rhythmic sound of the embroidery machines. We’ve been here for a while now. Bytespan Embroideries is the name we use for the business. There are colorful threads everywhere, different thicknesses and materials. My eyes get really tired from looking at the small patterns all day long. We do work for different people, sometimes big orders for boutiques, sometimes just a few pieces for individuals. The space is a bit small for all the heavy machines we have crammed in here. We often have to move things around just to walk across the room without tripping over something. It gets very hot in the afternoons when the sun hits the wall. The society is okay, though parking is always a big problem for the delivery vans. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. I just talk to customers directly on the phone. Sometimes the designs don't come out right and we have to scrap them and start over. That’s just part of the daily job. I started this because I knew how to fix the machines. It’s a lot of maintenance to keep them running smooth every day. We use a lot of needles and I’m always picking them up off the floor. It’s just a regular local business.
