Nupur Fashion

At Nupur Fashion, we work out of Govind Panchal Chawl in the Ovaripada area of Dahisar East. It’s a lively neighborhood and we are right in the middle of it. Our space is tucked inside the chawl, so it’s not some big glass storefront. It’s where we do all our sewing and designing. We’ve lived and worked around Dahisar East for a long time, so we know the people here well. Most of our day is spent at the machines or looking at fabrics. It’s hands-on work and can get quite busy during the festival seasons. We don't have a corporate office or a big team of managers. It is just us doing what we know how to do. The Govind Panchal Chawl has a lot of history and we are proud to be a part of it. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy with everything going on outside, but we just turn up the radio and keep working. People find us because they know the quality of what we make, not because of some fancy ad. We keep it simple. If you need something made or fixed, you just come by the chawl and talk to us. We’re usually there until late. It’s a hardworking life, but it’s our life and we enjoy it. There's always scraps of cloth on the floor and tea on the table. We wouldn't have it any other way. It's just home to us.
