We are tucked away in E-101 at Ekta Meadows. Thakur Village is a busy place, but Siddharth Nagar feels a bit more like a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone. Our space is mostly full of cloth rolls and half-finished outfits hanging on the racks. We spend a lot of time with measuring tapes around our necks, trying to get the lines right. It’s not a big showroom with bright lights, just a practical spot where the work gets done. Sometimes the floor is covered in small scraps of fabric that the broom missed. Borivali East has a lot of people coming and going, so we see different faces every day. People come in with an idea of what they want to wear for a wedding or just something for work. We listen to them and then get to work with the scissors and the machines. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but that is just life here. We have some old chairs for people to sit on while they wait for a trial. It gets a bit cramped when more than two people are inside at once. We don't use much technology here, mostly just our hands and the old sewing machines that have been with us for years. It is a simple setup but it works for us. We often work late into the night when a customer needs their dress finished for a special event the next day.
