Our place is inside the Neha Industrial Estate, specifically at units 206 and 207. If you are coming down Datt Pada Road in Borivali East, we are basically right across from the big Tata Steel gate. It is a busy industrial area, so there is always a lot of movement, trucks coming in, and people rushing around to get things delivered. Inside, the floor is usually covered with scraps of fabric and bits of elastic. We have rows of sewing machines and the lighting is that bright white kind you always see in factories. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, but the fans keep things circulating well enough for everyone to keep working. Most of the staff have been here for years, so everyone knows their job without being told too much. We deal with a lot of boxes and inventory every single day. It is not a glamorous setup, just a hardworking space where we get the orders filled and packed. Sometimes the lift in the building acts up, so we have to carry rolls of cloth up the stairs, which is quite a workout for the guys. You can hear the hum of the motors from the street if the windows are open. We keep to ourselves mostly and just focus on getting the production numbers right before the sun goes down. It’s a straightforward operation with a lot of manual work involved in every single piece.
