Bold & Beautiful

Our shop, Bold & Beautiful, is located in the Atlas Mill Compound, units 118-119, on 2nd Main South Central Road. Working in an old mill compound gives the place a specific feel. The ceilings are high and the walls are thick, which is good when the sun is beating down outside. We have a lot of stock laid out on long tables and hanging from metal pipes we put up. It’s a big space compared to some of the other shops, but we still manage to fill it up with all sorts of items. There’s a lot of walking back and forth between the units to find specific things for people. The compound itself is always humming with activity from the other businesses around us. You can hear trucks backing in and people shouting across the yard. We usually have a thermos of tea going and just spend the day sorting through whatever came in that morning. It’s not a polished retail environment; it’s more of a working warehouse where people can come and look around. We keep the doors open to let the air circulate through the big rooms. It’s just us doing the daily grind, managing the inventory, and making sure the place stays somewhat organized amidst all the boxes and bags.
