About Bobby Tea Dry Fruits – Food & Beverages in Mumbai
We’ve got Shop No 14/A in Virchand Niwas, which is part of the Ellora Park area in Sewri. It’s a busy little corner. Inside, it’s mostly big glass jars and sacks of dried fruits. The smell of the tea leaves is the first thing you notice when you walk in. We spend the mornings weighing out portions of almonds, cashews, and raisins into smaller bags. It’s repetitive, but there is something nice about the rhythm of it. The shop isn't very large, so we have to stack the crates pretty high up toward the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the whole place is made of cardboard boxes. We have a small stool behind the counter where we sit when there aren't any customers, but usually, someone is stopping by for a packet of tea. The light in Sewri is a bit dim in the evenings, but we keep the shop bright. Most of the people who come in are from the nearby buildings. We know who likes which blend of tea and who wants the salted nuts instead of the plain ones. It’s a straightforward business. We don’t have any fancy displays or lights, just the products on the shelves and a scale that’s been calibrated more times than I can count. It’s just us here, working through the inventory day by day until it's time to pull the shutter down for the night.
