Bindiya Shop

If you walk around Mulund West near Kedari Garden, you’ll eventually stumble across Bindiya Shop. It’s not a fancy place with bright neon lights, but it’s our spot and we’ve been here for a good while. The mornings are usually the best part of the day because the air is still a bit cool and the garden nearby brings in a few people taking their walks. We start by sweeping the front and getting the shelves sorted out. It’s a simple life running a shop in this part of town. We know most of the people who walk past by their first names. There is a lot of talk about the weather or how the local traffic is getting worse. Bindiya Shop is small, so we have to be careful about where we put everything so we don't trip over things. Sometimes the inventory takes longer to count than we expect, and we stay late with just a single bulb over the counter. We don't have a website or anything like that, just this physical space in Mulund West. Most of our day is just sitting on the stools and waiting for the next person to pop in. It’s quiet enough that you can hear the birds from Kedari Garden when the road noise dies down. We just keep things moving one day at a time without any big fuss or unnecessary stress about things we cannot change.
