Bhayani Sweets

You can find Bhayani Sweets at number 20 in the Patel Building. We are tucked away on Dadi Seth Agyari Lane in Kalbadevi, which is a place that never really seems to sleep. Our kitchen is usually busy from early morning, getting everything ready for the day ahead. It is a traditional setup, the kind you do not see as much of these days. We make things the way we were taught, using old methods that take a bit more time but seem to turn out much better. The shop is not huge, but it is full of the smell of sugar and ghee most of the time. Customers come in from all over the neighborhood, some just for a quick snack and others to buy big boxes for their families. We try to keep the counters full, though some items sell out faster than others. It gets quite cramped in the lane outside, especially when deliveries are arriving or when the festival season kicks in. We do not have a big corporate strategy; we just focus on making good food and being polite to whoever walks in. Sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky or the packaging takes a minute longer than it should, but that is just part of running a busy sweet shop. We like being in Kalbadevi because of the history of the area. It feels like we are part of the local fabric here. We just do our work.
