Bharat Store

Shop Number 7 in the Sharda Estate Building is where you’ll find Bharat Store. We’re on Lt Road in Borivali West. If you know Vazira Naka, we’re just a short walk from there. The street is usually full of cars honking and people rushing about. Our shop is a bit old-fashioned. We still have the same wooden counter from when we started. It’s not a fancy place with bright neon signs. We just keep the basics that everyone needs. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling. Sometimes we have to use a ladder to get things down for customers. Sharda Estate is a good building, though the hallways can be a bit dark. Our customers are mostly the people who live right here. We know who wants which brand of tea. It’s a nice feeling when you know your neighbors like that. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just open up in the morning and sweep the front step. The fan doesn't do much when it's really hot in Mumbai, but we get by. We might have some boxes in the way sometimes. It's just a regular shop where we do our best every day. Borivali is a crowded place, but our little corner feels familiar to the people who shop here regularly.
