Bhagwanti Sarees

Our shop is located on the ground floor at Shop No 6/8 in the Dwa building on Charni Road. It’s a busy spot right next to the Central Bank, so there’s always people walking past our window. We’ve been here for a long time, selling all kinds of sarees to the local community. The shop is quite deep and we’ve lined the walls with shelves from top to bottom. Each shelf is packed with different fabrics—silk, georgette, cotton, you name it. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything; we just rely on people seeing the sarees we display near the entrance. When a customer comes in, we usually spend a lot of time pulling out different colors and patterns for them to see. It’s a lot of physical work, folding and unfolding the cloth, but it’s part of the trade. My family has been doing this for generations. We don't believe in high-pressure selling. We just show what we have and let the customer decide what they like. The shop can get quite crowded on Saturday afternoons, and it gets a bit warm inside because the air conditioning isn't the strongest. But people don't seem to mind. They come for the variety and because they know we’ve been here at this same spot on Charni Road for years. It’s a straightforward business, just selling nice clothes to people who need them for everyday wear or special occasions.
