Beverage & Food World (The Amalgamated Press)

Our office is tucked away on the 5th floor of Hamam House. Being in Fort means we’re right in the middle of all the old Mumbai hustle. Ambala Doshi Marg is one of those streets that always feels alive. At Beverage & Food World, which is part of The Amalgamated Press, we spend our days looking at what’s happening in the industry. It's mostly quiet work, researching and putting things together. The building is an old one, so the elevators can be a bit slow sometimes. We have piles of papers and journals everywhere. It’s a bit cluttered, but we know where everything is. The staff has been here for years, and we have our favorite tea stalls nearby. We don't really do the corporate thing with big boardrooms. It's more about sitting at our desks and getting the latest information out. Sometimes the noise from the street below is loud, but it’s part of the charm of working in this part of town. We handle a lot of correspondence and keep track of different food and drink trends. It’s a steady pace. We aren't trying to be the biggest, just consistent. If you walk up to the fifth floor, you'll find us working away. It’s a practical space for practical people. We just keep our heads down and do the job that needs doing every day. It's simple work but it's what we know best after all these years in the publishing side of things. We aren't looking to change.
