Beena Stores

Beena Stores is a small local shop in Borivali East. We’ve been here for a long time, and the place has changed quite a bit over the years. We carry the basic stuff that people in the neighborhood need on a daily basis. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside because we try to stock as much as possible on the shelves. You might find soaps next to snack packets or notebooks near the batteries. We don't have a fancy layout or a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to come by. Some people stop in just to say hello or check the time while they are walking to the station. The fan in the corner makes a bit of a clicking noise, but we’ve stopped noticing it after all these years of work. We handle everything ourselves, from sweeping the floor to tallying the accounts in a thick ledger at night. Sometimes we get the wrong items delivered by the suppliers, and we have to sort that out, which is always a bit of a headache and takes up our whole afternoon. It’s a simple life running a corner store on this side of Borivali. We aren't looking to expand or become a big supermarket. We just like being part of the street here. We know most of the families around here by now. Being here at Borivali East 2 is what we know.
