Basic Export Company

Our office is in the Damji Shamji Industrial Complex on L B S Marg in Kurla West. If you know the area, you know how the traffic can be on that road. We have been in unit 17 for a while now. It’s an old building, but it works for what we do at Basic Export Company. We handle a lot of paperwork and coordinate shipments from here. The space is filled with files, computers, and a few samples of what we export. It isn't a retail shop, so we don't get many walk-in customers, mostly just delivery guys and the occasional business contact. Kurla is a busy spot, and being in an industrial complex means there is always something going on next door. We hear the sounds of trucks and other businesses all day long. The lift in the building is sometimes a bit slow, so we end up taking the stairs quite often. We just focus on making sure the boxes get where they need to go and the documents are correct. There isn't any fancy decor on the walls, just calendars and maybe a clock that runs a few minutes fast. We come in early to beat the worst of the Mumbai heat and stay until the day's work is finished. It’s a straightforward operation and we like it that way because it keeps things manageable.
