Barkat Collection

Our shop, Barkat Collection, is in Fort at Balaji Bhavan. We are right across from the Colaba Police Station, which makes it very easy to give people directions. The area is quite historic and always has people walking by. We’re at 63/65 in Sector 7 C. It’s a small shop filled with different items we’ve collected over time. It gets a bit crowded inside when we have more than a few customers. We spend a lot of time organizing the shelves and making sure everything is in its place. The building itself has that old Mumbai feel to it. Being opposite the police station means it’s a pretty safe and recognizable spot. We don't have a big corporate story. We just opened up here because we liked the neighborhood. Sometimes we sit outside and watch the traffic go by when it’s slow. Most of our customers are people who live nearby or work in the local offices. We try to keep things simple and honest. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the city. We just want to offer what we have to the people who walk in. It’s a regular routine of opening up, helping folks, and closing down at night. We’ve been here long enough that the local beat officers know us by name now.
