We are based in Goregaon West, inside Udyog Nagar No. 7. Our unit is number 17, right across from the Raheja Solitaire building, just off S.V. Road. It’s an industrial unit, so don’t expect a fancy bakery counter when you visit. We focus mostly on the production of our confectionery items. Inside, it’s a mix of big stainless steel tables, mixers, and racks of cooling trays. The humidity in Mumbai can be a real pain for making sweets, so we have to keep the temperature controlled as best as we can. There are about a dozen of us working here in shifts. The mornings are usually spent prepping the ingredients, and the afternoons are for packaging. It’s a lot of manual work, and our hands are rarely clean for long. We decided to set up in Goregaon because it’s easy for our suppliers to reach us, even if the traffic on S.V. Road is a nightmare most afternoons. We don't have a marketing department; we just make the products and send them out. Sometimes a batch doesn't turn out quite right and we have to start over, which is frustrating, but it’s part of the job. It’s a noisy, busy place with the sound of the packing machines constantly in the background. We just try to keep things moving and make sure every box that leaves the unit is packed right.
