B J H Sales is located over at 3-C in the Laxmi Industrial Estate in Andheri West. If you know Mumbai, you know how busy and cramped Andheri can get. Our unit is in a long row with several others, and there is always something being loaded or unloaded in the narrow lane. We have been operating out of this estate for a long time now. The space is mostly taken up by our stock, so there is only a small corner left for the desks and the phone. It gets a bit humid here, but we are used to that. We don't have any flashy signs or a big storefront to attract people. Most of our work is done through phone calls and people who have been coming to us for years. The guys who work the warehouse have their own way of organizing things that might look a bit messy to a stranger, but they know exactly where every item is. Sometimes the tea lady comes around in the morning and we all take a quick break together. We don't really go for fancy mission statements or any of that corporate talk. We just show up at the Laxmi Industrial Estate every morning and start going through the daily orders. It is a tight-knit place, and we know the other business owners around unit 3-C pretty well. It’s just how we do things in this part of town.
