Atul General Stores

Our store is located right by the bus depot in Borivali East. It’s a very busy spot because there are always people rushing to catch a bus or coming home from a long commute. Because of our location, we see a lot of different faces every single day. We sell a lot of quick things like water bottles, biscuits, and cigarettes, but we also have all the regular groceries like dal and rice for the people who live in the buildings nearby. The noise from the buses is constant, but you stop noticing it after the first hour. Atul General Stores is just a small, functional space. We have to keep things moving fast because our customers are often in a hurry. I spend a lot of time stocking the front shelves because those items sell out the quickest. It gets quite dusty with all the traffic, so we are always cleaning. We don't have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure that when someone needs a pack of batteries or a liter of milk, we have it ready for them. It’s a long day, starting before the first buses run and staying open until late. It's just a regular shop in a busy part of Mumbai, doing our best to serve whoever walks in, whether they are regulars or just passing through. That's how we run things.
