Ata Shankar Apparels Private Limited

Our place is over at Sharad Industrial Estate in Bhandup West. We have two units, F-211 and F-212, which sounds like a lot but it’s mostly just filled with machines and stacks of fabric. Lake Road is always a bit noisy, and being at number 140 means we see a lot of trucks coming and going all day long. Ata Shankar Apparels Private Limited is the name on the door, but we’re just a small crew working here. It’s an old industrial building, so the elevators are sometimes a bit slow, and we often end up taking the stairs. We’ve got a routine down now. Usually, someone gets in early to open up, and then the noise of the sewing starts up. We don’t really spend money on fancy decorations because we’d rather just have good equipment. Sometimes the heat in Bhandup gets a bit much in the summer, but we manage somehow. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to finish the work we have on our plates. If you come by, you’ll probably find us sorting through inventory or talking to the delivery guys. It’s practical work. We’ve been in this part of Mumbai for long enough to know all the local tea stalls and where to get a quick snack. It’s a tight-knit spot here in the estate, and we just fit right in with the rest of the workshops.
