Astral Impex

Astral Impex is right at Shop No: 6 in Pushpa Bhavan. We’re directly across from the Telephone Bhavan in Colaba, which is a very busy spot. If you know Mumbai, you know Colaba is always crowded and full of energy. Our shop is small, but it’s packed with stuff we import and export. We’ve been in this little corner for a long time, watching the tourists and office workers walk by every single day. The shelves go all the way to the ceiling, so we have to use a ladder more often than not to find things. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when more than two people are inside at once, but we make it work somehow. We handle various goods that come through the port, mostly small items that people need for their shops or homes. There’s no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that’s seen better days, but that’s just how it is in these old city buildings. We don't bother with fancy displays or lights. People usually come in already knowing what they want, and we find it for them in the back. It’s a simple way to run a business. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we have to shout over it just to hear each other, but we’re used to it. It’s a real local business, right in the middle of all the noise and life of the city. We enjoy being here.
