If you go down Khairani Road into the Azmi Compound, you’ll find us at Shop 8/B. It’s right near the Durga Mandir Road. The compound is always crowded with trucks and people moving things. Our shop is packed with all kinds of equipment and metal parts. Most of the time, the floor is covered in scrap and tools we haven't put back yet. We spend our days fixing things or putting together orders for guys who come in from the Sakinaka area. It’s a gritty place, to be honest. There’s no air conditioning, so we just keep the doors wide open and let the dust fly in. The walls are stained and the shelves are a bit crooked. We’ve been in this spot for years and know all the other shop owners around here. We talk about the weather or the traffic while we work on a piece of machinery. Sometimes we stay late because a job is harder than we thought. Our hands are almost always black from the grease and oil. We don't have a website or anything like that, people just know we are here in the compound. It’s loud, it’s messy, and it’s usually very busy. We just focus on what’s in front of us. When the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just sit outside on plastic chairs until it comes back on.
