Asiatic Stores

You can find us at Shop No 9 in the Bhaktawar Building. We are right on the Andheri West 80 Feet Road, which stays busy pretty much all day and night. Being next to the Post Office helps people find us, as everyone knows where that is. Asiatic Stores has been around for a while now. The shop is narrow but goes back quite a bit, filled with all sorts of things people might need. We spend most of our time rearranging stock or checking what needs to be reordered. The floor is that old tile that stays cool even when it’s humid outside. Sometimes the street noise is so loud we have to shout a bit to be heard, but you get used to it. We keep a small stool behind the counter for when things quiet down, which isn't very often. The morning is usually for receiving boxes, and by the afternoon, we are trying to clear the aisles so people can actually walk through. It's a bit cramped, honestly. There’s a cat that hangs around the entrance sometimes, looking for a scrap of food. We don't have big flashy displays. Just the stuff people ask for, stacked where we can reach it. It’s a plain, honest kind of shop. We close up once the streetlights have been on for a few hours and the traffic finally starts to thin out. There is always something that needs dusting, but we do our best.
