Asian Food Industries

Being on the 5th floor of the Sagar building on Narshi Natha Street has its ups and downs. Mostly, it’s about the stairs or waiting for the lift when we have a lot of stuff to move. This part of the city is always crowded. You can hear the noise from the street even up here. We handle a lot of food products at Asian Food Industries. It’s mostly bags and boxes coming in and going out all day. The office isn't very big, and we have desks pushed up against the walls to make room for the inventory. It’s a bit cramped when the whole crew is in. We drink a lot of tea while we sort through the paperwork. Dealing with food means you have to stay on top of the dates and the storage. We try to keep things organized, but on busy days, it looks like a bit of a mess. My uncle started this a long time ago. He liked being near the docks. The air smells like spices and exhaust fumes out the window. We spend a lot of time on the phone with distributors. Sometimes the connection is bad, or they can’t find the building. We just tell them to look for the big sign. It’s practical work. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just want to get the orders filled and get home on time.
