Ashok Stores

Ashok Stores has been a part of the Chinwala Building on Mazgaon Station Road for a long time. We are right opposite Nazam Baug, which is a landmark most people in the area use to find us. It’s a typical local shop. We sell a bit of everything that the households around here might need in a hurry. The station road is always crowded with people rushing to catch trains or coming home from work, so we see a lot of foot traffic. Our shop isn't very large, but we try to use every inch of space to stack things up. Sometimes it looks a bit messy, but I know exactly where everything is located. We don’t use any fancy computer systems to track our inventory, we just keep an eye on the shelves and order more when things run low. It’s a simple way of doing things, and it has worked for us for years. My family is usually here behind the counter. We talk to the customers about their day while we bag up their items. It’s nice being in a spot where you know everyone's name. We aren't trying to be a big chain store, we just want to be the place where you can grab what you forgot to buy earlier. The building is old and has its quirks, but it's our home and our business all in one. Sometimes I stay open a bit later if the street is still busy.
