We are located in the basement of the AC Market building on Pandit Mohan Madan Mal Road. It’s a well-known spot in Mumbai, even if the basement can feel a bit like a maze if you aren’t used to it. Our unit is number 9. Being down here means we don't get much natural light, but we’ve got plenty of lamps and it keeps us focused on the fashion work we do. It’s a busy building with a lot of different traders and businesses tucked into every corner. We handle a lot of textiles and garments. Some days the hallway outside is packed with people moving rolls of cloth. It can get pretty cramped, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We’ve been in this space for some time now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy with the current season's orders to worry about that. We aren't trying to be some high-end boutique. We just supply what people need. Dealing with the traffic on the road outside is probably the hardest part of the day. If you’re coming to see us, you have to look for the stairs going down near the main entrance. It’s a humble setup, but it works for what we do. We have a small group of staff who know the market inside out. We mostly just drink chai and get the work done. It is just a normal day for everyone here.
