Aracikan Koltuk

Aracikan Koltuk is tucked away in the Bhandup Industrial Estate, specifically at 2033 in the Pannalal Compound. It is a large, busy compound with all sorts of workshops nearby. We spend our days working on seating and furniture. There is usually sawdust or pieces of fabric scattered around the floor by noon. It’s a hands-on environment, and we all end the day with a bit of dust on our clothes. Bhandup is a real working-class area, and we fit right in. We don’t have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most people come to us because they know the kind of work we do with our hands. The noise from the other units in the compound can be quite loud, but we are used to the rhythm of it. We take our time with each piece, making sure the frames are solid and the cushions are right. It’s not about rushing through a list of tasks. We just like making things that last. Sometimes we have to move heavy furniture around, which keeps us all in shape. We don't bother with corporate slogans or mission statements. We are just a group of people who know how to work with wood and fabric. If you walk into our unit, you’ll see us busy at our stations. It is a simple setup, and that is exactly how we like it. We’ve been in the Pannalal Compound long enough to know all the neighbors.
