Apple Bakery Machinery Private Limited is based at 20/I on the first floor of Hansraj Damodar Wadi. It’s just off Kennedy Bridge, right by the Opera House area. If you’ve ever been stuck in traffic near Opera House, you know it’s a packed part of the city. Our space is tucked away in an old building that has seen a lot of history. We sell the big machines that bakeries use to make bread and cakes. Think of huge mixers, ovens that can hold dozens of trays, and dough dividers. Because the machines are so large, the space feels even smaller than it actually is. We have some parts on display and some desks where we handle the sales side of things. It’s usually a bit oily and smells like metal and old grease, which is normal for this kind of work. The walk up to the first floor is narrow. We spend a lot of time talking to bakery owners who are either starting something new or trying to fix an old machine that broke down. We aren't trying to be fancy here. It's a practical business. My staff and I mostly wear work clothes because we are often moving parts around or showing someone how a motor works. It’s loud outside with the bridge traffic, but we’re used to it after all these years at this address.
