We operate out of Shop No. 4 in the Ganesh Co-operative Housing Society in Antophill. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze because we handle exports, which means there are always boxes stacked up everywhere. Akbari Exports isn't a massive warehouse; it’s just this one shop where we coordinate everything. We spend a lot of time on the computer checking emails and then running out to check the inventory. The society is usually quiet during the day, except for the occasional delivery truck trying to navigate the parking lot. We know all the security guards and the neighbors who live upstairs. Sometimes they come down to ask what we’re shipping out today. The floor is made of plain grey tiles and we have one old fan that does its best to keep the place cool. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure labels are stuck on correctly. We don't have a sales team or anything like that, just a couple of us doing the packing and the sorting. Sometimes the boxes are so high we can’t see out the window. It’s a practical business, focusing on getting things from point A to point B without too much fuss. We eat our lunch at the main desk, usually something from the local canteen nearby. It is just how we run things here in the middle of Antophill.
