Anik Ladies Tailors

Our little shop, Anik Ladies Tailors, is tucked away at Plot Number 13, D1 in the Jai Bhagwat Society. Being in Andheri West means there is never a quiet moment. We are right on the Sinhagad College Road, so there are always students walking past Jadhav Nagar on their way to classes. The shop is filled with various colored threads and half-finished pieces hanging on the racks. We started doing this because it’s what we know. It is mostly just about sitting at the machine and making sure the stitching is straight. The light in here isn't the brightest, but we have some extra lamps for the detailed work. It can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of fabric delivered at once. We don't have a website or fancy brochures to show people. Usually, someone just hears about us from their neighbor and walks in with a bag of cloth. We talk about the designs, figure out the fit, and then get to work. It’s a lot of sitting and focused effort. The tea from the corner stall is what keeps us going during the busy wedding seasons when everyone wants their things done at the same time. It’s a small operation here in Andheri, but we have our regular routine and we like the people who live around Jadhav Nagar. We just keep our heads down and finish the work as it comes in.
