If you find yourself on J. P. Road in Andheri West, you might see the Vardhman Building. We are located at No. 4 inside that building. Paani Puri Clothing Pvt. Ltd. is a bit of a funny name for a business that deals with fabric and garments, but it stuck. Our space is usually quite crowded with rolls of cloth and boxes stacked up high against the walls. It is a bit noisy because Andheri is always full of traffic and people, and that sound carries right into our workroom. We have a handful of sewing machines that run for most of the day. The hum of the motors is the background noise to all our conversations. We don't have a polished showroom with fancy lights. Instead, we have large wooden tables where we lay out the patterns and do the cutting. Sometimes the ceiling fan rattles a bit too much, so we have to turn it down and just sweat through the afternoon. We drink a lot of water and share snacks during the short breaks we take. Most of the people working here have been with us for a long time, so we function more like a family than a corporation. We aren't looking to become some massive global brand. We just want to make sure the clothes we produce are put together correctly and sent out to the people who ordered them without any big fuss or mistakes.
