Kickshaw Fashion

Our workspace is at No. 36 in the Accord building in Chakala, Andheri East. If you know this area, you know how hectic the traffic can get. We are mostly focused on fashion items, but it is more of a wholesale or production kind of setup than a shop. The room is filled with rolls of fabric and half-finished garments. It’s not the most glamorous place to see, but we get the work done. I started this because I wanted to be my own boss, even if it meant working longer hours than a regular job. We have some heavy tables for cutting the cloth and a couple of desks for the paperwork. The windows are usually shut because of the dust from the road outside. Andheri is a good place for business, even if it is a bit crowded. We usually have lunch from one of the nearby stalls; the food there is actually better than what you get in the fancy malls. We don’t have a marketing department or anything like that. We just talk to our clients directly. Sometimes things get delayed because of the rains or a late shipment, and we just have to deal with it. It is a simple operation, really. We try to keep our overheads low so we can stay in business. That’s the reality of running a small fashion place in a big city.
