Fortune Shoes

Our place is called Fortune Shoes. We’re located over at No. 60 in the Apollo Industrial Estate. It’s right next to the Holy Family School, just off Mahakali Caves Road in Andheri East. Being in an industrial estate means it's a bit of a different vibe than a regular high street shop. There’s always trucks and vans moving around nearby. We spend most of our time dealing with footwear production and sales. It can get pretty warm in the summer months, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. The school next door makes it easy to find us if you’re lost. We’ve been in Andheri for a good while. The space inside is mostly dedicated to storage and the work we do. It’s not a fancy place for browsing like a boutique. It’s more of a functional space. People usually come to us because they know we’re here. We don’t have a big fancy storefront. Just a door and our sign. The staff here are mostly local guys who live nearby. We focus on getting the shoes right and making sure the boxes are stacked properly. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy. If you’re ever down Mahakali Caves Road, you’ll see the turn for Apollo Industrial Estate. That’s where you’ll find us, tucked away behind the school. It’s a solid little operation we’ve got going, and we try to keep the coffee pot full for the afternoon slump.
