We are way up on the sixth floor of the Atlanta building in Nariman Point. It’s one of those classic Mumbai office buildings where the elevators always seem to be busy and the hallways are a bit narrow. Our office, number 63, is usually a hive of activity with people coming in and out. Being at 209 Nariman Point means we are right in the thick of the city's business life. The office isn’t huge, so we have to be careful about where we stack the files and the samples. There’s a lot of paperwork involved in what we do at Amon-Ra Impex Pvt. Ltd., and you’ll often see someone hunched over a desk looking through shipping documents or typing away. We have a view of sorts of the surrounding buildings, but mostly we are looking at the computer screens or talking to clients on the landline. The air conditioning hums all day to keep the Mumbai humidity out. It’s a bit of a maze in here sometimes with all the cardboard boxes, but we know where everything is. Lunchtime usually involves someone going down to get snacks for the whole team from the stalls outside. It’s a professional enough environment, but we aren't formal people at all. We wear comfortable shoes because we’re on our feet a lot, moving between the desks and the storage area. It’s a steady rhythm we’ve got going here, and it suits us just fine. We just focus on the day’s tasks.
