Amar Jyoti General Stores

Our store is Shop Number 1 in Swami Chawl, which is on Caves Road in Jogeshwari East. We are located right near the Jogeshwari East Police Station, which makes it a very easy landmark to give people. We sell all sorts of everyday items that people in the neighborhood might need. It is a general store, so our shelves are filled with everything from snacks and soap to basic kitchen supplies. We have been a part of this community for a long time. Every morning we open up early to make sure people can get what they need before they go to work. The shop is a small space, but we try to keep it stocked with a bit of everything so people do not have to travel far for groceries. We know most of our customers by name since they live nearby. It feels more like a local meeting spot than just a store. We do not have fancy lights or automatic doors. It is just us behind the counter, weighing out goods or bagging up items. Sometimes it gets quite crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming home at the same time. We just keep the line moving as best as we can. Living and working in the chawl means there is always someone to talk to. We do not do big sales or promotions. We just keep the basic stuff in stock at fair prices.
